Dignity Action Day gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to upholding people’s rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people receiving care. This day aims to ensure that people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control, and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.
Oaklands House residents joined together for an afternoon of discussions about the importance of dignity. Using a display board with quotes and poems that were also read out, heart-shaped speech bubbles were used for those who wished to share and write what dignity meant to them and was displayed. A wonderful ‘Digni-tea’ was provided with an array of various cakes to choose from using our fine China sets. Everyone agreed on how important it is to raise awareness.
