Here, at Oaklands House Care Centre, we were heartened by the generosity of our local community over the Christmas period, and humbled that we were in so many peoples’ thoughts.
Our local senior school, Wildern Drama Academy, sent us a lovely Christmas cake, freshly made mince pies and cards made by the pupils.
West End Coronavirus Community Group, organized by Julie Haylett gave each of our residents a lovely present, these ranged from toiletries and bed-socks to beautifully crocheted blankets. Christmas trees were donated by Cleary’s Garden Centre and Geoff Houghton. Even the local nursery group made little parcels up for each of our residents, along with a Christmas card each, some of the children being as young as 3 years old!
