For St David’s Day/ Shrove Tuesday we had a double celebration at Stowford House to ensure we honoured residents with Welsh heritage and those who observe lent – or just enjoy pancakes!
Staff decorated the home with Welsh flag decorations, posters with traditional Welsh memorabilia on them and ‘Happy St David’s Day’ posters. There were also plenty of bunches of daffodils around. Residents enjoyed crafting daffodils, using yellow card and painted egg boxes. One resident suggested that we could sell what we made! During afternoon tea time, we brought out our portable hobs and made pancakes for residents who wanted them. This activity triggered a lot of laughter!
