Chestnut House held an event in memory of those we loved, cared for but lost to covid 19. “We will remember them” poem was read at the beginning of the Thanksgiving service by Sara, the home manager followed by relatives and staff recalling their memory of each individual resident or loved one as they placed large stones inscribed with a resident’s name before placing under their chosen fruit tree. The thanksgiving drew to a close with everyone enjoying coffee and Danish pastries. Sara, the home manager commented: ” as a team we thought long and hard, with many ideas offered, on how to celebrate the lives of all our lovely residents who we had lost to the covid 19. The day was truly special and of course, very emotional.”
