Nutrition and Hydration

The right food choices and a balanced diet provides the body with the nutrients and energy it needs to function properly. Ensuring that our residents receive adequate amounts of nutrition and hydration is a fundamental aspect of holistic care.

We’re quick to water our plants in the summer months, but what about ourselves? The human body is around 60 per cent water. As such, hydration is crucial for maintaining body functions, including the heart and brain. The elderly are often more at risk of dehydration as some might not be able to communicate their needs, especially those living with dementia.

Each of our homes across the Future Care Group has a dedicated kitchen team who are involved in the planning, creating and delivering of well-balanced, nutritional meals for our residents based on their individual needs. Local and seasonal ingredients are used as much as possible. Some of our homes grow their own vegetables and herbs to be used in the kitchen!

We wanted to share some of our delicious food offerings this summer. Something for all diets from our brilliant chefs and catering teams across the Future Care Group!
