An incredible achievement was reached this month as our dear resident, Graham, and his lovely wife, Pam, celebrated a phenomenal 55 years of marriage.
They marked their Emerald Wedding Anniversary with family, enjoying a glorious afternoon spread that made this extraordinary milestone extra special.
Pam and Graham graciously shared with us the story of how they met all those years ago. Pam, recuperating from a back operation in a Bournemouth hotel, where Graham’s parents were staying on holiday. Graham, living in Southampton, visited the hotel to see his parents, and that’s where Graham and Pam first crossed paths.
After Pam returned to Sheffield, Graham would drive up there on weekends in his trusty red Beetle to win her heart. They courted briefly and married in Pam’s hometown of York on January 11, 1969. Following their wedding, Graham and Pam established their family and lived a contented married life in a Southampton bungalow until Graham moved to Oaklands. Pam happily remains in their marital home.
