A Tribute to Bonfire Night and Guy Fawkes

The winter festival invokes the spirit of gathering around bonfires and witnessing the mesmerising firework displays on a crisp, dark night. This tradition harks back to the thwarted ‘Gunpowder Plot’ of 1605 when a band of rogues, including the infamous Guy Fawkes, conspired to blow up London’s Houses of Parliament.

At Steep House Nursing Home, residents embraced the festivities by decorating delightful biscuits that embodied the beauty of the fireworks lighting up the neighbourhood. As the evening darkened, we added to the enchantment with glow stick bracelets. Resident Roy radiated a brilliant blue necklace that gleamed in the night.
