Acacia Lodge supporting RSPB with educational and informative presentation

On Tuesday 28th of January,   Acacia Lodge residents enjoyed  the company of special guest, Mr Pat Sparrowhawk from Nettlebed, who visited the home to present to the residents, glorious photos and videos that Pat had taken of the beautiful birds, that regularly visit his garden. In addition Pat shared images of the wonderful wildlife he captures on film in the surrounding countryside.

Pat is fortunate enough to have over 40 different breeds of birds, visit his garden.

Pat, 82 years young, keeps fit and active walking the fields in the countryside around him, looking in hedgerows, seeking out his feathered friends, insects and animals almost daily.

The home purchased some nesting boxes and were given free advice from Pat, on where to place them  in Acacia Lodge’s garden to encourage more birds and wildlife for the enjoyment of the residents living in the home.

The residents were enthralled, his pictures were fabulous and included some of the beautiful flowers in his garden too. The audience asked him lots of questions, told him stories of their own gardens in the past, and as is always the case enjoyed a nice cup of tea.

A lovely afternoon was enjoyed by all.

(And yes, Mr Sparrowhawk is his real name!)
