Albany Lodge Nursing Home had a fantastic day celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month!
Our space was filled with vibrant colours as faces were painted, hats and wristbands adorned, and blow-up rainbow photo frames and flags fluttered. Our talented chef baked a delightful rainbow cake, adding to the festivities with a spread of delectable treats.
The atmosphere was lively with the presence of entertainer Mr. Stephen Walton and the lovely Annette, who joined us in singing wonderful songs. Residents enthusiastically danced along, sporting rainbow hats and face paints, truly getting into the groove.
Albany Lodge takes pride in being an inclusive and accepting community, welcoming everyone regardless of race, gender, or religion. We showcased all 15 flags, providing explanations for each, fostering a learning environment for residents and their families.
Our LGBTQ+ celebration today was not only joyous but also educational. We’re eagerly anticipating our grand PRIDE celebration in June!
