Animal-Assisted Therapy

Priory Court Care Home residents and staff were lucky enough to have some fantastic animals visit our home this week as animal therapy.

Our residents were joined in the courtyard by Kevin the pony, Lucy the lamb, Gin and Tonic the kittens, 2 baby chickens, a Guinea pig, and an extra-large rabbit. We were able to hold and cuddle all the animals. The smiles on their faces were wonderful to see. Kevin enjoyed eating our flowers in the courtyard, and Lucy had her bottle of milk given to her by some of the residents.
It was a wonderful afternoon, and we will be having them back soon to see the residents who are bed bound and were unable to join us. Animal therapy is one of the best tonics in a care home.
