At Stowford house we marked Armistice Day by offering around Poppies and then observing a 2 minute silence at 11am with The Last Post music over the tannoy. In our dementia care unit we listened to military themed music, read poems such as Flanders fields, crafted poppies, and coloured in poppy pictures. In our nursing care unit we completed remembrance themed crosswords, word searches and watched a service followed by a concert in our decorated lounge. One of the residents said that the poppies looked lovely and it was great to hear residents singing along to familiar songs and sharing their own memories with each other.
