Southborough Nursing Home residents had a lovely visit to the Embroidery Museum located at Sunbury Park!
The displays are magnificent and intricate! Residents loved looking around and also had a chat with the kind volunteers. We learnt that there were around 160 embroiderers who created these displays and were of mixed abilities, some new to the craft.
Our resident Barbara said, “Looking at these designs takes me back to when my hands would be creating patterns.” Barbara used to make personalised embroidered gifts for her families for Christmas. She was very pleased to visit the museum.
The staff were friendly, and we had a cup of tea at their welcoming café! Kudos to the staff for making us feel at home.
