Frank and Ann’s 65th Wedding Anniversary Party

Frank first met Ann in 1953. Initially, she was not interested but Frank persisted, and the relationship blossomed. They married in 1959 and moved to Brize Norton in 1960, where they lived in a caravan near the air base with two young children. From there, they moved to a new council house in Watermans Road, Henley.

Frank went on to work with various companies, then started his own Jex Construction, now run by his sons Lee and Steve. Frank built his dream, a five-bedroom house with a swimming pool.

Ann and Frank have been married for over 65 years, with four children: sons Lee and Steve, and daughters Terri and Nicky. They also have 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Frank learnt to play the saxophone by ear and performed for the family at their 50th wedding anniversary party. He also loved building model ships with meticulous care.

They also holidayed in Texas, where Frank bought a 1962 white Ford Thunderbird Convertible, now regularly used by his sons.

Frank is proud of his achievements and family, a social person who loves building friendships. He adores dogs, currently owning Jaz, a black Labrador.

Ann visits Frank daily at Acacia Lodge Care Home, sharing lunchtime together, greeted by his wonderful smile.

Our dear Lifestyle Lead, Wendy, at Acacia Lodge, was asked to take Frank to his 65th anniversary party on Saturday 13th April to surprise the family. She gladly accepted. Dressed smartly, he enjoyed the ride to Shiplake College, basking in the sunshine and scenery. His family welcomed him with tears, hugs, and smiles, making him overjoyed to see them gathered around!
