Over 1000 people attended the Great British Care Awards – National awards 2023, held at the Birmingham ICC on Friday 17th March. The evening was a celebration of the incredible examples of dedicated care professionals across the country. To become eligible for the National awards, all nominees must have won their regional events, which were held across the country towards the end of 2022.
In November 2022, Solent Grange Nursing Home was shortlisted for the Care Home Team award and Micha Legaspi the Social Care Nurse award. Sadly, the team did not receive an award on this occasion. However, Micha Legaspi walked away winning the Southeast regional award in her field. To be shortlisted was an amazing feat. To have won was just incredible, and this catapulted Micha to the National Finals. Unfortunately, on the night Micha was pipped to the post, however the experience of the whole process at both regional and national level has been truly amazing to be part of and we are all grateful for the experience.
The evening included a great mix of entertainment, including a Freddie Mercury tribute act and Rick Parfitt Jnr and the RJP Band. The show was hosted by Steve Walls and was supported by Peter Andre as the night celebrity guest.
