Great British Care Awards – our finalists

The Future Care Group is proud to announce that Solent Grange Nursing Home’s team has been shortlisted in the South East Region of the Great British Care Awards! In addition, Micha Gail Andal, who is the Deputy Manager at Solent Grange has been shortlisted for The Social Care Nurse Award.
We are really proud to have a truly dedicated team who were able to keep the momentum going over the last few challenging years, providing high-quality care to our residents. Home Manager, Alison Gray, also commented: “As a new member of the team, I found the home and the staff to be warm, welcoming and supportive, a true inspiration for their hard work during covid and beyond. Even during the hardest times, the team pulled together and created a great atmosphere to work in.”
Special recognition has to go to the nurses for their tissue viability assessments and treatment plans, which together with the care team have helped heal 4 ungradable hospital-acquired pressure injuries. This has also been recognised by the local Tissue Viability Team. Also, credit must go to Head Chef, Emma, who moved into the home full time during the height of covid to ensure she was available as and when needed to cover shifts.
Deputy Manager Micha’s efforts and achievements don’t go unnoticed. Her passion for end-of-life care shines through. She goes the extra mile to ensure our residents feel comfortable during this time in their lives and empowers staff to recognise the needs of family and friends, offering support and comfort during their time of need. Micha has also been the driving force for the introduction of Nourish and RADAR. She has supported her colleagues to understand the systems which in turn has improved the service for residents and their families. She is calm and professional and always at hand to support her colleagues at any given time.
