Residents, staff, and the activity teams at Oaklands Care Centre have been planning their annual Halloween party for two months! A big shout out to the activities team who came very aptly dressed, and who helped residents choose their own costumes and props for the day as well as to administration manager Sally, who baked and decorated loads of Halloween novelty cakes for the buffet. Residents and staff began the party with good old fashion songs, many of which were selected earlier in the month, allowing the activities team to print off song sheets and enable everyone to participate. After the singing, we began the party games with pluck the plastic eyeballs out of the jelly, trick or treat, residents hunting through coloured spaghetti to find Halloween treats, followed by an afternoon buffet and cup-cakes – it was a very memorable day, lifting the spirits of both residents and staff alike!
