Kings Lodge Nursing Homes National Cheese and Wine Day celebration

Kings Lodge Nursing Home couldn’t resist celebrating National Cheese and Wine Day on the 25th of July with a fantastic party!

Our morning started with a trip to Bosham Quay, where four residents enjoyed the fresh air and a drink at The Anchor Bleu. Laughter filled the garden as we soaked in the seaside view, even though the tide was out. The staff at The Anchor Bleu were delightful, and we can’t wait to visit again soon, hopefully under sunnier skies!

In the afternoon, our ground floor lounge turned into a cheese and wine haven. Everyone indulged in a variety of cheeses, crackers, and bread, accompanied by some country songs and lively dancing. Our activities staff got into the spirit by dressing up as farmers and cowboys for a fun-filled event in honour of National Cowboy Day. The karaoke session was a hit, with residents singing their hearts out to familiar tunes like ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ and beloved ABBA songs.

The delicious foods and wines were a big hit, and there was hardly anything left by the end of the day. The cheeses, thoughtfully hand-selected by our activities lead Diana, included Brie, Cheddar, Stilton Blue, and more. We made sure to offer a mix of old favourites and exciting new flavours for our adventurous residents at Kings Lodge!

Our residents loved trying on different straw and cowboy hats, posing for photos in front of our photo wall with various props. It was a day filled with laughter, fun, and of course, cheese! We cherish every opportunity to celebrate with our residents, and we’re already excited about our next event. Stay tuned for more fantastic celebrations!
