Namaste Care: Sensory Serenity

Enhancing Lives through sensory activities, residents Margaret and Christine at Oaklands House Care Centre enjoyed some comfort and tranquillity.

Dementia’s impact on daily life is profound, but sensory activities can significantly improve well-being. Stimulating touch, smell, taste, sight, and sound can calm agitation, reduce anxiety, and enhance relaxation.

Our sensory hand massages, create a soothing environment in our stunning Namaste room and its surroundings.

The room was beautifully lit from twinkling candles to ceiling lights, along with soft relaxing music, and the calming scent of lavender.

Beyond enjoyment, these activities foster reminiscence, communication, and emotional expression, making a positive impact on mood, social interaction, and overall quality of life.
