Oaklands Garden Day

With the weather turning much nicer, our residents at Oaklands House Care Centre have been enjoying time in the garden.

From helping with the planting of the new veg to reading poetry and answering riddles, the garden adds an extra dimension to our activities. For some, it is listening to the birds and being out in nature that makes a difference to their day.  For others, it’s a change of scenery, integrating with other residents or reminiscing that uplifts them.

Our gardening club has now gone forward with the next level of planting. After checking off the arrival of the order, they have helped to plant Carrots, basil, Tomatoes, spinach, and beetroot, always guided by resident David. One thing being in the garden does for everybody is to stimulate the senses.
Our residents always enjoy their time in the garden, and with the sun shining, an ice cream or fruit lolly is always a bonus. Long may the good weather continue.
