Remembrance Day at Oaklands House

Oaklands House Care Centre residents observed Armistice Day with heartfelt reverence. At the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month, we stood in solidarity with the Armed Forces past and present, honouring the 2-minute silence. Wartime memories were shared, acknowledging the sacrifices made to protect our way of life.

In a poignant tribute, residents engaged in bright poppy colouring, infusing the day with a vibrant spirit. John and Irene, in a collaborative effort, crafted a lovely poppy wreath now proudly displayed on our fireplace.

This small act serves as a profound reminder of gratitude and remembrance for all who have served.
