Royally Enchanting Afternoon Tea at Kings Lodge

From the 7th to the 13th of August, it was National Afternoon Tea Week, and, of course, we here at Kings Lodge had to celebrate in style. So, on the 11th of August, we threw the best tea party our residents have seen. We decided to have a theme for our afternoon tea, and what could be better than being royal? Our residents and staff wore their favourite tiaras and best gowns to truly get into the royal spirit. Everyone enjoyed cakes, biscuits, and, of course, tea throughout the afternoon.

Our residents enjoyed the afternoon together and loved being royals for the afternoon. They all truly embraced the royal spirit and enjoyed talking about dances they used to attend when they were younger. Luckily, the weather was on our side as the sun was shining all afternoon, making the event perfect for our tea party. Our residents loved seeing the activities staff, all dressed up in their best dresses, walking around the home, greeting everyone, and inviting them to the royal tea party.

Across the home, our residents are big fans of the royal family, so our royal afternoon tea was a big hit among them. They were all eager to get to our vintage tearoom and see the displays we had set up on the tables. Each table was set out with matching teacups and saucers, and there was a beautiful bouquet on each of them. Additionally, each table had its own set of sweet treats to enjoy, and everyone could help themselves. They all enjoyed the variety of cakes we had on offer, such as brownies, cupcakes, and Victoria sponge. They also loved picking out a crown or fascinator to wear for the tea party, as you can’t be a royal without a hat.

Overall, it was a fantastic afternoon filled with lots of smiles, laughter, and tea. Our residents had a great time and enjoyed reminiscing about the dances they used to attend while dressed in their best attire. They said they can’t wait for our next tea party and are looking forward to the theme we’ll choose for our next event.
