Stowford House Garden Party Celebration was organized to bring together the community of Stowford House to celebrate ten years of being open and also to commemorate all the residents who passed away whilst we were in lockdown and unable to mourn in the usual way.
All hands were on deck to decorate the garden with bunting, balloons, and other decorations. The kitchen created a very special afternoon tea and two entertainers used the ‘music tent’ to provide relaxing music in the garden. Andy from maintenance had also worked hard to finish the commemorative stained-glass window so it could be revealed to all of the staff on the day.
This event took place to foster community, moments of joy and celebration. An event in which all could be included, whatever physical, social, emotional or cognitive ability – there was something for everyone who wanted to join.
Staff, residents and families commented what a well-organised and beautiful day it was.
