A lovely Sing-Along afternoon was had at Oaklands House Care Centre, with a great variety of songs to suit everyone. Song sheets were distributed along with a choice of musical instruments. Residents joined in with singing, dancing, tapping their hands and feet, and clapped after every song.
The last song was dedicated to our wonderful residents and staff for all their hard work and dedication. Staff from all departments joined the Lifestyles Team in singing the song “Thank You for being a Friend”.
Music legend Sting was joined by Tony Christie, who has been diagnosed with dementia, to record “Thank you for being a friend” to thank carers for being a friend to all dementia sufferers and raise awareness. The event was organised by Music For Dementia to honour carers on July 2nd.
The Lifestyles Team made thank you cards and distributed to all our caring staff at Oaklands with written quotes to show how much everyone is appreciated, which was greatly received.
