On Friday, the 18th of November 2022, Solent Grange Nursing Home staff attended the Great British Care Awards for the South East Region, held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole. The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK celebrating excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
Solent Grange Nursing Home has been shortlisted for the Care Home Team Award, and Deputy Manager, Micha Legaspi, has been shortlisted for the Social Care Nurse Award.
More than 500 people attended the ceremony hosted by James Argent from “The Only Way is Essex” television series. The evening was a black-tie event which included a three-course meal and entertainment from a Dolly Parton tribute act.
Unfortunately, on this occasion, the team were pipped to the post for their award. However, it was with great delight that of the 12 Nurses shortlisted, Micha Legaspi went on to win Social Care Nurse Award. Upon winning her Award, Micha tells us, “To be recognised for something that I love and am passionate about means a lot to me. Being nominated and shortlisted for this Award came as a surprise. I was over the moon when they announced me as the winner; I was not expecting this. I would like to dedicate this Award to the Solent Grange Nursing Home Team and our lovely residents.”
We are so proud of Micha, who will now be put forward for the National Awards ceremony, held at the ICC, Birmingham, on the 17th of March, 2023.
