The Hedge End Glee Club Choir

A lovely evening of entertainment was had at Oaklands House Care Centre. We welcomed The Hedge End Glee Club Choir back into our home.

The Glee Club sang a variety of songs with The Beatles, Elvis, and Abba being amongst our residents’ favourites. Families and friends joined us for this enlivening evening of music, and everyone enjoyed a glass of punch along with fruit skewers, fairy cakes, and pastries.

The Glee Club’s charity for the evening was for Andy’s Man Club. This was something very close to their hearts, as one of their members sadly lost her son to suicide. They want to raise money and awareness for men dealing with mental health issues.

The singers were a group of 15, spanning a wide range of ages. Oaklands House residents, relatives, and staff sang along to the music and clapped along to the wonderful sounds. Singing can be very stimulating and is incredibly uplifting and important for our resident’s well-being.

Everyone involved had a fantastic time, and we look forward to their next visit!
