At Oaklands House Nursing Home, we prepared for Valentine’s Day with an afternoon of arts and crafts. Residents enjoyed making their own design using heart templates, crepe and pieces of square paper, and coloured heart shapes to make wreaths.
We were joined by a lovely young girl, Frankie, who wanted to colour in pictures to give to her mums on Valentine’s Day. She joined in with our discussions and memories, and we also reminisced about our school days and what our favourite lessons were, as Frankie was interested. Residents said how lovely the afternoon was and that having a child join in with us, which made it even more special.
