Meet The Team at Oaklands House Care Centre - Southampton

Our Belief is that your future matters

Byron Nadgie

Home Manager

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Byron Nadgie and I am the manager at Oaklands House. I joined the Future Care Group because I passionately believe in their core values: Care, Comfort, Compassion and Credibility, which should always be at the centre of the way we work.

I started at Oaklands House 3 years ago, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience working within the care sector, having managed Nursing/Dementia and Residential homes, led management teams as a Regional and managing Director, finally becoming Head of Quality for the priory group south west and Wales, before moving to HC-0ne as a Quality Turnaround Lead Practitioner.
Starting out from the ground upwards, I first became a registered manager in 2002, and since then have enjoyed working within the care industry in management or senior management roles.

As a relative myself of a mum living in Nursing care I strive to promote best practise, person centred approaches and positive outcomes for all those who call Oaklands home.
I have a keen love of the outdoors, sitting in the sunshine and a passion for writing fantasy and fiction novels.

I look forward to meeting you personally, my door is always open, working with you to make a brighter future for your relative.

Sally Ware

Administration Manager

Hi, I’m Sally, the administration manager .

I’ve been with the company two years after a complete carer change of 16 years of retail. I joined the Future Care Group as a HCA then progressed to a senior and now I’m the administration manager, over my time with the company I have built up relationships with families over their loved ones and now I’m the contact for them as they contact the home. My role is fast paced and each day is different.

Martina Kerestanova

Receptionist

Hello, I’m Martina, and I’d like to introduce myself. I’m a member of the Administration team, primarily stationed at our reception area. I’m typically the first point of contact when you visit Oaklands. I moved to the UK from Slovakia 16 years ago and joined Oaklands two and a half years ago as a night healthcare assistant. My passion for meeting new people and assisting families in maintaining their connections led me to make a career change and join the Administration team at Oaklands. I’m part of a three-person team under the leadership of Sally Ware. It’s my pleasure to help you stay connected with your loved ones or guide you to other team members who can address your inquiries.

Sarah Barratt

Head Chef
I’m Sarah, the Head of Catering! I have been at Oaklands for 21 years, where I actually started as a Carer. I often helped in the kitchen where I was mentored by the chef and began to learn about food preparation, diet and nutrition. I progressed to Chef and now Head Chef, and I am proud of my achievement and running our team.
We are always looking for ways to make food interesting, irrespective of dietary need. As a keen Baker I love to try out new recipes. I have a team of 5 chefs and kitchen assistants all of which are focused on providing a positive meal time experience.

Erica Smith

Hi, I’m Erica. I have been the Lifestyle Lead at Oaklands House since December 2018. My team of 4 staff share a philosophy of engagement and fun. We love to hear residents laugh and are proud of how, irrespective of disability, all of our residents join in. We use a person-centred approach to enable people to have moments of joy and meaning.
