Meet The Team at Southborough Home Surbiton
Our Belief is that your future matters

Kamal Gill
Home Manager
I am delighted at my appointment as a Home Manager at Southborough Nursing Home. I’ve been within the care industry for 12 years, in which I have managed a nursing home with nursing and Dementia care. I did my nursing in India and completed my BSC Hons in Nursing from Surrey University at Guilford. I enjoy my role as a Home Manager and enjoy the fact that I am able to influence a difference to enhance the lives of the individuals who we are privileged to care for. I am always available and happy to help with the smooth running of all the departments at Southborough Nursing Home. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and meeting you in the near future.
On a personal level, I am married and have two wonderful girls named Manit and Seerat. I enjoy spending time with my family and my two daughters.

Isabel Bennett
Deputy Manager
I feel very honoured to be joining the team at Southborough Nursing Home and am looking forward to getting to know all of the wonderful staff and residents, and learning about their life experiences. I completed my Master’s in Adult Nursing at King’s College London and previously studied for my undergraduate degree in Health and Environmental Sciences at UCL. I have experience in many care and hospital settings and previously as Deputy Manager in a Residential Home in Newbury. I am excited about the opportunities to enhance the health and wellbeing of Southborough’s residents and to continue the work of the lovely team here.
Outside of work, I love travelling to new places, being by the sea and camping, and keeping fit through running and surfing.

Shobha Lakshminarayan
Lifestyle Lead
I am grateful for my role as Lifestyle Lead at Southborough Nursing Home, part the Future Care Group. I love interacting with the residents – adding some positive energy and joy to their day is a gratifying experience. As part of my role, I create fun activities for our residents with music, movements and constantly seek to add something new to our activity calendar with their input. Seeing them smile and being part of moments where they share a lovely thought or reminisce about their lives has been wonderful and makes me think of the words “Love what you do, and you never work a day in your life”.
I may sing for one resident, dance with another and laugh loud with a third and have a deep conversation with another – a pot-pourri of a day – and I get to be myself through it all, which is the best part! I love being in the moment with them and strive to treasure special memories on camera to be shared with families and on social media! My role involves making special occasions memorable and fun for the residents, and this is not possible without the support of the wonderful team here at Southborough Nursing Home, which is what makes this a great place to work – everyone cares!

Aruna Prashar
Head of Laundry
I have been at Southborough Nursing Home since 1998, and it feels like home to me. I work hard to ensure our residents’ clothes are cleaned, ironed and organised to my best abilities. I have made good relations with our residents and their families throughout. As I am completing 25 years of work here soon, I am feeling happy and grateful for this role.
